Dakota Johnson Covers ELLE Magazine March 2014 Issue as Ana Steele

Dakota Johnson strips down for the March 2014 issue of ELLE magazine channeling her alter-ego Anastasia Steele. The sexy twenty-four year-old actress gives us a glimpse as to why she is going to rock the role of leading lady in the highly anticipated film Fifty Shades of Grey. Pictures don't lie and neither does that smoldering gaze or the romantic innocence captured in her expression.

The debates still continue online over casting. Can we move on, please? Can we just accept the fact that the movie is nearly completed and give these actors a chance? I know a lot of people are on the fence about Dakota Johnson being cast as Ana Steele, but I am not and I've been on board with her from day one.I still don't understand why so many people say she is "too old" to play the virginal college student who eventually tames the hot as hell, kinky, tormented Billionaire Christian Grey.

Anyway, I guess haters are gonna hate, so let them have their opinions (even if they are wrong).

Moving on... Besides the obvious instant chemistry she has with co-star, Jamie Dornan (oh yes, you can see it from the behind the scene photos, trust me) it all leads back to that scene with Justin Timberlake in The Social Network. The banter displayed between them in that scene alone tells me how Dakota will approach the famous "interview scene" where she meets Mr. Grey for the very first time. I know you noticed it too, and if you didn't watch it again--think about it.

Johnson is featured on the cover posed innocently on her knees, next to a bed of course, wearing a short-sleeve John Galliano mod-inspired dress paired with sexy black Donna Karan sheer thigh-highs and red Manolo Blanik sandals. Her accompanying editorial features her in more seductive poses wearing pieces from Jason Wu, Missoni, Prabal Gurung and, of course, Christian Louboutin.

My favorite picture is of her sweetly pulling up her lace stalkings wearing a beautiful embellished Burberry Prorsum lace trench coat. Just stunning.

Not only that, but I read a few excerpts from her interview and I really like her. She's ballsy and confident--I like that about her. For instance:

Dakota on why she's right for the role of Anastasia Steele:  “I don’t have any problem doing anything. The secret is I have no shame.”

We all know that Dakota is a go-getter. She lobbied for the role of Ana Steele from the start, admitting she was intrigued by the character and loved the story. Direct from the mouth's of babes:

Dakota on what interested her most in the movie:  “Reading the book, I found myself more interested in the ways they were breaking each other down emotionally than the sex scenes. I think there’s a part of a woman that wants to be the thing that breaks a man down.”

Here's to hoping this editorial calms the storm conjured by the internet trolls and reassures all Fifty Shades fans that Ms. Johnson is/was the only choice for Ana Steele. I know I'll be picking up a copy of the issue when it hits newsstands on February 18th. Will you?

2014 Golden Globe Awards ~ Best Dressed

There were so many fabulous frocks on the red carpet at the 2014 Golden Globes, I almost didn't know where to begin with this best dressed list. Soon to be moms, like Olivia Wilde, who glittered in a long-sleeve emerald Gucci gown and Kerry Washington, wearing a sleeveless dove grey Balenciaga silk crepe dress, knocked it out of the park.

Then there was the bevy of red dresses that sparked a fashion firestorm in the twitter-sphere. Everyone was talking about the red hot ensembles, especially Amy Adams, who kept with the theme of her American Hustle wardrobe opting for an elegant Valentino halter gown with a daring plunging neckline. And can we please commend Emma Watson for adding some youthful flair to the red carpet in that sensational backless Dior ensemble with tailored black pants?

How dapper were all the men last night? Leonardo DiCaprio never looked more handsome accepting his long awaited Best Actor Award wearing a black two-button Giorgio Armani tux with silver Jennifer Meyer cuff links. Chris Pine walked on stage and I nearly fell off the couch. His black Ermenegildo Zenga couture suit was impeccably tailored. I loved his Tod's black patent loafers. I cannot forget Bradley Cooper, the American Hustle actor impressed in a sleek Tom Ford tuxedo with a classic bow tie.

Jennifer Lawrence can't get out of that Dior contract soon enough for me. I would really like to see her wear edgier designs like Prabal Gurung or even Marchesa. Paula Patton disappointed me in her train wreck white gown that she could only seem to waddle in because it was too tight on her. I cannot even get started on Lena Dunham, who managed to ruin a beautiful sunny yellow Zac Posen gown.

Here are my top five picks for last nights best dressed celebrities.

Blake Lively in Marchesa at the Van Cleef & Arpels Event in New York City

Blake Lively looks gorgeous in this stunning black lace Marchesa slip dress featuring floral embroidery at the Van Cleef & Arpels event in New York City. I love the sultry feel this dress provides with the Chantilly lace cut-outs and airy flow of the skirt.

She arrived to the event wearing a faux fur emerald green jacket that I'm going to assume was Gucci. She looked like a 1940's screen siren - just wow.

She styled her glamorous look with black Gucci ankle-wrapped heels and dazzling jewels by Van Cleef & Arpels.

A dark lip and manicure along with glossy side-swept Veronica Lake waves completed her ensemble.

I adore Blake's sexy and sophisticated style, she looks amazing. What do you think? Would you add this look to your best dressed list for the week?

Natalie Portman in Christian Dior at the Guggenheim International Gala

Natalie Portman attended the Guggenheim International Gala in New York City last night wearing this stunning crepe and duchess silk satin Christian Dior sleeveless dress with an embellished blue sheer hemline.

The actress styled her look with black pumps, a sleek black clutch and Dior Fine Jewelry.

A wavy up-do and a pink manicure provided the finishing touches to her red carpet ensemble.

There is something off for me with this look, the dress itself is fabulous. The more I look at it, I cannot help but feel like this hairstyle makes Natalie look like a twelve-year-old girl. I just feel a Shirley Temple vibe. Am I being too harsh?
