Blake Lively New Face of Chanel~

It's official Blake Lively is the new face of Chanel! The Gossip Girl star is already hard at work for the couture label, and reports are circulating that shooting has begun for the new ad campaign!  Karl Lagerfeld has made no secret of his admiration for the 23-year-old. “She’s a kind of American dream girl,” says Lagerfeld of the blonde beauty.

The ads, slated to break in April magazines, will feature Lively  showcasing the new Mademoiselle handbag line and will be photographed by Karl Lagerfeld. It was American Vogue editor in cheif Anna Wintour who introduced the actress to the designer last July during couture week in Paris. The three of them had dinner together the night before the Chanel show at the Grand Palasis. Lively said of meeting Lagerfeld, “I took a photo of him so that I would never forget that moment.  Never did I think six months later he would be photographing me.”

Seems that the California native is the current belle of the ball ~ front-row fashion show favorite during fashion week, a popular TV series, Louboutin shoe named after her and now the face of the house that Coco built! The actress joins an elite club of beauties that have reprensted the iconic fashion house including Diane Kruger, Keira Knightly and Vanessa Paradis.

The Future's So Bright~

It's been brewing for awhile I think - big sunglasses are back. In a time of minimalism in fashion, sunglasses seem to going the opposite way (see my piece last week on trends for 2011 - "go big or go home").

Aviators are still popular (and I feel uber cool in my Cole Haans, I can't lie). But, cat's eye shaping seems to be exploding on the runways.

These Alexander Wangs are available for pre-order ($365 - Saks). Granted, you might look a bit like a character from "The Hunger," but vampire styling is all the rage these days.

Also, colored shades ushering in the "hippie" vibe. Marc by Marc Jacobs has these pink shades (again go big or go home). ($98)

Sunglasses add mystery and drama to, well, almost anything (it's a reason I got contact lenses in high school). I think a person should own several pairs of shades for every occasion (and a cheaper pair because, let's face it, they break).

On a final note, if anyone can recommend me a good place to get case for my Cole Haans, I would be ever so grateful! Because I can't find one!

XOXO- Devon

Ashley Greene in Valentino at the 2010 Teen Choice Awards

Ashley Greene walked the red carpet at the 2010 Teen Choice Awards wearing this strapless nude and pink Valentino mini with black floral lace detailing on the bust.

The gorgeous Twilight star styled her multi-print look with Stephen Russell jewels, Ferragamo black peep-toes and a black Killian box clutch.

Loose beachy waves, a sun-kissed glow and a soft pink lip added the final touches.

Do you love this look on Ashley as much as I do?

2009 Best/Worst Dressed Golden Globes

Best: Kate Winslet Double Nominee Kate takes a break from black and slips into this stunning cobalt blue form fitting gown from Narcisco Rodriguez.

Worst: Angelina Jolie Angelina seems to have an "I don't care how I look attitude" this awards season. Although this is a huge improvement from her Golden Globes gown, the Changelling star missed the mark in this Max Azria dress. Later we found out that Angelina decided to wear the dress backwards...oops! Although I do love her jewels by Tiffany and Company and her hair is beautifully pinned up and back to show her gorgeous face.

Best: Anne Hathaway The Best Actress Nominee for her role in Rachel Getting Married looks stunning in this white Grecian inspired column dress by Azzaro. The jeweled neckline adds sparkle and the inset waistline gives it a gorgeous figure hugging look.

Best: Evan Rachel Wood The star of The Wrestler has come a long way from her goth inspired fashion days. Evan Rachel looks simply gorgeous in this one shoulder Monique Lhuillier gown and Neil Lane jewels.

Worst: Jane Krankowski Even though the 30 Rock star's show was handed several awards I cannot award Jane as best dressed. This Roberto Cavalli dress is too red and plunging for Jane, she looked very uncomfortable from the Red Carpet to the Awards Ceremony. Jane let this look stick to those that are younger...PS J Lo called and she wants her dress back.

Best: Christina Applegate The Samantha Who star really made an entrance when she graced the red carpet in this exquesite draped jade Emanuel Ungaro gown. She finished off her polished look with Lorraine Schwartz jewels and a Swarovski clutch.

Best: January Jones Mad Men's troubled housewife was anything but in trouble on the Red Carpet. January really hit a home run here with her Cleopatra inspired look by Andrew Gn. The black gown was stunning with the gold embellished neckline and waistline. She completed the look with a pair of Jimmy Choo's!

Worst: America Ferrera This Vera Wang dress is a train wreck on the Ugly Betty star, I know for a fact that Mode would not have let her wear this out in public. America looks like she is being swallowed up by a box of silk scarves or pantyhose.

Worst: Rosario Dawson This Silver Dolce and Gabbana dress is flirting with disaster on the Seven Pounds looks like she has seven pounds of runched fabric on her. Rosario should have stuck to something form fitting and sleek to accentuate her beautiful figure.

Best: Taraji P. Henson The Benjamin Buttons star and SAG nominee looked absolutely fabulous in this white halter Herve Leroux gown accented with H Stern jewelry.

Worst: Tina Fey The 30 Rock Star had all kinds of trouble keeping her top up all evening and the classic little black dress was just not that flattering on Fey. Tina may have won her category that evening but Coco Chanel is rolling over in her grave right now.

Worst of the Worst and Repeat offenders

Wisteria Lane Meltdown Longoria-Parker misses in Peach or is it tangerine? The neckline is terrible and that is not a strapless Jenny Packham gown. It looks like old pantyhose were sewn to finish the ensemble and make it a halter.

And the Worst is: Emily Blunt Miranda Priestly would never let her wear that eye sore to any event. I love your style Emily but you failed to make the grade here. Everything is wrong here, the silver skin tight Pamella Rolland gown washes you out and your hair is so slicked back it looks your stylist..That's all!

And the Best Dessed is: Claire Danes Claire really looked ravishing in this crimson Nina Ricci silk tulle gown. I love how it seems so light on her and frames her figure in all the right places. I love how her hair is pinned up and has just that one little srand falling down the side of her face. Her jewels are Fred Leighton and her shoes are Jimmy Choo's.
