New York Fashion Week Fall 2013 RTW: BCBGMAXAZRIA

Max and Lubrov Azria helped kick off New York Fashion week with a collection that was by far less minimalist than that of previous ones, but no less superb. BCBGMAXAZRIA's Fall 2013 RTW collection could be best described as grungy chic (minus the hideous flannel) for the edgy downtown girl. Think of this as dressed up, relaxed casual wear in the most fabulous of textures. Leather, fur and cashmere... need I say more?

The collection was inspired by a recent trip to Istanbul and the contemporary art of Phil Frost.

Vibrant mosaic prints and lazer-cut patterns were presented in a plethora of flowy looks.

Cozy cashmere sweaters layered over breezy tunics were coupled with slouchy pants. Long fur vest coats and roomy leather jackets gave the collection a tough luxe appeal.

Accessories consisted of adorable cashmere beanies, leather leg warmers, pointed heels and over-sized tablet clutches. Can we all just go buy some fur and beanies asap? This collection is just as tough as it feminine and will have fashionista's clamoring for these cool girl pieces.

The Wrap Up:

  • Trend Forecast: Leather, fur, sheer details and beanies.
  • Colors: Black, white, blue, gray, oxblood and emerald.
  • Must Have Piece: The navy blue, mid-length printed jacket with the fur hoodie.
  • Front Row Access: Sami Gayle, Krysta Rodriguez, Jessica Hart and Julie Henderson.
  • Celebs who I think will be wearing this collection: Kate Beckinsale, she loves a knit beanie. Sophia Bush, maybe not the fur, unless its faux. Naya Rivera, Amber Rose, Cameron Diaz, Lauren Conrad, Mischa Barton, Shenae Grimes and Jennifer Lopez.

New York Fashion Week Spring 2013 RTW: BCBGMAXAZRIA

Lace, leather and breastplate-like accesories graced the runway in the Spring 2013 RTW Collection by BCBGMAXAZRIA. In a lovely blend of soft whites and ivories, bright coral and stark black, the collection consisted primarily of flowing dresses and skirts and blouse ensembles. Leather accent strips crossing the chests, worn over and under dresses, created an edgy vibe to the otherwise über-feminine looks.

Delicate lace patches were a large part of the collection. Woven into jackets, skirts and blouses, black and white lace added sheer, peek-a-boo glimpses of skin. Maxi dresses graced the runway with mixtures of floral, pastel cut-outs and leather strips.

The models wore attention-grabbing coral lipstick and carried leather satchels. Neutral stilettos with a thick ankle strap were the primary shoe of the runway show, a variation worn by Lubov Azria at the end of the show.

Celebrity Style~ Kristen Stewart in BCBGMAXAZRIA

Here we are again talking about Kristen's styling choices. The actress joined her co-stars for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 press conference at Comic-Con 2012 wearing this mixed separates ensemble.

Kristen's look included a cropped white Fluxus tee and a high-waisted, neon yellow BCBGMAXAZRIA mini skirt.

She finished her look with a Melinda Maria black onyx ring and Barbara Bui black and silver high-top sneakers.

What do you think of Kristen's look? Do like her choice in shoe? Is she too casual for Comic-Con or spot-on perfect? Do you like her tousled, messed up hair or would you have liked to have seen her wear a sleek ponytail?
