First Look: Estee Lauder Macarons Pure Color Spring 2013 Nail Polish Collection

Estée Lauder has created a sweet treat for your manicure this spring. Their newest collection, Macarons Pure Color for Spring 2013 is inspired by one of the most popular French treats-- the macaroon. I am not sure why the spelling of macaroon is different, must be a French thing.

This delectable nail polish collection features five pastel hues named after selected macaroon flavors: Narcissist - dew rose, Dilettante France - blueberry, Coral Cult - pink berries, Lilac Leather - dream lavender and Absinthe - delicate spring tea.

The new lacquers will be released in January 2013 at select Estée Lauder counters and online at Estée Lauder.com. Do you have a favorite shade yet?

Editor's Pick~ Touch In Sol Feel like Honey Moon Skin Base

I received a sample of Touch In Sol's, Feel Like Honey Moon Skin Base in my August GlossyBox. My skin had been breaking out so badly, like when I was a teenager and felt so dry. I hadn't changed anything in my routine, but was reluctant to try new products on my skin for fear it would only make the problem worse. However, I discovered I have a wheat allergy (gluten sensitivity) and that was causing my skin to break out. So with that out of the way I decided to give this product a try.

I love the texture of this product, it glides over your skin so smoothly like silk and smells delightful. It's a perfect primer to apply after you have finished your skincare routine before your makeup. The honey texture firms and rejuvenates your skin allowing for a better makeup application. I also like to use it at night. I have noticed that my skin is softer and more luminescent since I have started applying this twice per day.

I adore the packaging of this product too, the font is adorable!

I highly recommend this product, if you are looking for a luxe moisturizer or primer that won't dry out your skin this is the one to try.

Shop: Touch In Sol US.com; $20.00.

Give it a try and let me know what you think!

Going For Gold- Medal Winning Metallics for Lips and Nails

The Olympics may be over, but the makeup is staying on.

Metallic medal-winning looks are on trend this late summer and carrying on to early autumn. Flaunt bronze, silver and gold and get yourself noticed on the podium.

Combine smoky glamorous eyes with metallic lips for a smouldering look.

In this fashionista’s opinion, you can’t beat the Perfect Metallic eyes shadows from Chanel.  They are simply gorgeous colours and the textures make them easy to apply. They are light reflective so you can pat on a lot to get a sultry look or less to give a sexy polished day look. For the best effect, sweep on a block of colour with a brush and use the tip of your finger to pat in place and blend in the edges.

Go for gold eye makeup for a special occasion or apply it lightly for a day look that will get you noticed by the crowd. For night, combine with a liquid eye liner for a va-va- voom head turning wow factor. I like the gel eyeliners but caution on the application technique. Apply the liner first, then pat one of these eye-popping reflective shades on top of the liner- otherwise the shadow will get messed up with the liner and you will end up looking more like something out of Blade Runner than sexy sprinter!

One of the strongest colours is Soft Gold by Shu Uemura. For a softer look apply shadow on inner corners and under lower lashes skipping the liner.

Another strong transitional late summer look continuing to rock the autumn show catwalks is metal sheer shadow all over the lid. Bobbi Brown makes a simply fabulous one in Burnt Sugar. Use a darker colour like Chocolate also from Bobbi Brown instead of liner for a sexy natural look- who says you can’t smoulder at the beach while catching the last of the summer rays?

Bobbi Brown also makes the perfect metallic lipsticks. They are a bit dry, so put on some lip balm first to soften it down.

To finish the look, use a light reflective foundation. My personal favourite is Touche Eclat Foundation by YSL. It gives your skin a glow that lasts the whole day.

Have fun with metallic. Be bold, go for it and combine it with the on trend A/W eye popping optical designs for your own medal – winning look that will surely get you noticed.

June 2012 GLOSSYBOX~

Last month we introduced some of our North American readers to GLOSSYBOX, although many of you (ahem Europe) already knew about this amazing beauty treat. June's GLOSSYBOX was centered around revitalizing your face, hair and body. Pampering your skin and restoring your hair's natural texture.

Here are the list of items we received this month:

Wella, Enrich Moisturizing Treatment - We love trying different hair masks! This lightweight product will revive, rejuvenate and help restore your hair to its natural, healthy texture. Massage and leave in your hair for five minutes then rinse.

Ahava, Mineral Botanic Hibiscus & Fig Velvet Cream Wash - Wow! Did we love getting this in our GLOSSYBOX this month. The fragrance of this cream body wash was so invigorating, we immediately felt like we were transported to a tropical paradise. We loved the texture of the cream wash, too--silky smooth on our skin.

First Aid Beauty, Fab Smooth Shave Cream - A gentle and non-irritating shave cream perfect for all skin types. A little goes a long way with this product. The texture is so soft and it leaves your skin feeling smooth and moisturized. This might be our new favorite product.

OFRA Cosmetics, Eye Shadow Ice in Dumb Plum - We had never tried a creamy eye-shadow before if you can believe that. Where have we been? We really liked this product, especially the color. The eye-shadow was long-lasting and did not smudge.

Vbeaute, Lite Up, Buying Time & Eye Never - All three of these products were a delight to try. We liked Lite Up because it was almost like an illuminator for our skin. Buying Time is lightweight and  non-greasy and a little goes a long way. Eye Never was the product we liked the least of the three. It had a sticky feeling and the fragrance was a little too strong.

A Perfume Organic in Urban Organic - Its scent is described as a sweet lemon sorbet with bourbon, tangy lime peel, basil, ginger and smoky vetiver. This smelled more like wood polish or a cleaning agent. We unfortunately did not care for this perfume.

Want to receive a monthly goodie bag each month for yourself?  You can sign up for GLOSSYBOX here.

Ashley Rickards Reveals Her Beauty Secrets to Teen Vogue

Ashley Rickards, star of MTV's hit show Awkward, reveals her beauty secrets in a new interview with Teen Vogue. See what the 20-year-old actress has to say about taking fashion risks, her character's beauty regiment and her favorite red carpet beauty looks.

Ashley on taking fashion risks: "I think it's fun for girls to try out new trends, wear bright colors, and do unexpected things."

Ashley on her character's beauty regiment: "My character wakes up, throws on a hoodie, and calls it a day. She's a real girl—not the Hollywood version of a teenager. If she tried to wear makeup to school, she'd probably just sweat it off in gym class. She never wants to draw attention to herself."

Ashley on her favorite red carpet beauty looks: "I love a cat eye and bold lips. I've also been wearing a lot of black nail polish lately. But who knows? Next week I might want to wear neon green. It's fun to change it up."

Traveling to museums and giving us a firsthand look at exhibits like Lagerfeld's Little Black Jacket and the Daphne Guinness Exhibit at MFIT. Plus she is one of our most favorite bloggers to talk about celebrity red carpet fashion.

Not to mention tweeting with her about some of our favorite shows like Burn Notice and Castle. If you follow Kimberlee on Twitter you will notice #kimstipoftheday. We adhere to those helpful tips because it's just good sense.

Style On The Couch - We adore this blog, written by Sarah, a lovely Brit living in New York. One of the first bloggers we started to follow, we were fascinated by her daily outfit posts.
