My husband bought me some amazing Lush Cosmetics Bath Bombs for Christmas. I kept meaning to find the time to try one of these wonderfully scented bath products and when I finally did, I tried the fragrance, Phoenix Rising. It smelled wonderful, a powerful mixture of apples and cinnamon. I dropped the entire bomb in the tub and it began to work its fizzy magic. It changed my water to a beautiful plum color, but that is not the only thing. After a while my skin turned purple, mostly my hands and feet (that is where it was most noticeable, but it was everywhere).
I had a cream colored towel, and as I went to grab it to towel off, it left a pinkish purple stain. Of course I was thinking, would it stain my carpet or my new bath mats as I walked to the linen closet to get another towel? Furthermore, would the synthetic color ruin my pajamas or my white bed sheets?!
I immediately turned on the shower to try and used my loofah to scrub off the rest of the residue from the bath bomb. I grabbed the cream colored towel to see if that had worked--nope. Needless to say, I was more than annoyed when what was to be relaxing bath became more bothersome than rejuvenating. So I grabbed a wash cloth and a different towel and headed back for a second shower after the bath. I dried off and used a cotton ball to check to see if I had successfully removed the colored residue from my skin. As far as I could tell, it was gone from my skin, but the bath bomb stained my finger nails a pinkish purple, my inside shower curtain and my tub. Finally clean, I then had to immediately clean my tub and wash my shower curtain to get the stain out.
The Wrap Up: The bath bomb smelled great and was relaxing to a point. However, I would not recommend this particular bomb to a friend. If this sort of thing doesn't bother you, then I would say try the Phoenix Rising Lush Cosmetics Bomb. I have three more bath bombs, I am thinking of trying another one just to see if it has the same effects. However, I will read the product reviews first to avoid this issue again.
What are your thoughts on the Lush Cosmetics Bath Bombs? Has this happened to you?
