London Fashion Week Spring 2013 RTW: Sass & Bide

A recent trip to Peru and Buenos Aires provided designers, Heidi Middleton and Sarah-Jane Clarke with the inspiration for the Spring 2013 collection for Sass & Bide. The energy of those exotic places is what the Australian design duo found most intriguing.

Structured jackets with glittering shoulders and capes paired with leather shorts and loose fitting trousers gave the range a mixed feeling of masculine dressing meets feminine luxe.

The line is set on a mostly a monochromatic color palette of black and white with flashes of pink, neon orange, glittering silver and gold.

Looks were styled with gold belts, floral necklaces and lace up booties and heels which added a softness to the strong silhouettes.

There were plenty of cocktail dresses with sculptural details and feather and metallic striped embellishments on gowns for Hollywood red carpet events. Young stars like Emma Roberts, Ariel Winter, Lily Collins and Kristen Bell who like 'notice me' details or power dressing should add these pieces to their wardrobes.

Paris Fashion Week RTW ~ Lanvin

Bold jewel tones and fierce, yet feminine, silhouettes defined Lanvin's Fall 2012 RTW colllection at Paris Fashion Week. The runway show began with clean lines and solid prints with minimal accessories. Ruby red, gold and sapphire were among the colors on the primarily jewel toned palette. The color palette also included a group of solid black ensembles that contained dresses, jackets and coats with a fierce, streetwise feel.

Feminine curves were highlighted with cinched waistlines, rounded hips and body-hugging fabrics. The delicate details included ruffles, sewn on jewels and calf-enhancing hemlines.

The models wore loose flowing hair and natural looking makeup. The accesories of the collection ranged from multi-colored fur stoles to oversized chunky necklaces.

Alber Elbaz's Fall 2012 collection for Lanvin proves that a woman can dress powerfully and feminine at the same time.

London Fashion Week RTW ~ Antonio Berardi

Bold colors, jagged hemlines and ruffles marked the Antonio Berardi Fall 2012 runway show. Void of any mixed prints, the collection featured stark solids including teal, crimson, black and white. Layered ruffles paired with form fitting bodices and created feminine, hourglass physiques.

Berardi combined intricate detailing, in beadwork and lace, with solid color in a Yin-Yang effect. The S-shaped swirl was commonly featured in the dresses and jackets of the collection. Also featured were ruffles at the hips, sometimes only on the right side of the garment for added flair.

The models wore blunt cut bob hairstyles with severe straight-across bangs. The shoes were lace up stilettos in teal or black, with variations of a feathered front plate.
