Paris Fashion Week: Louis Vuitton

Carousel horses, some covered in the Louis Vuitton signature print, stood as the backdrop for today's runway show in Paris.

A pale palette and intricate design work marked the Spring 2012 collection displayed at the Louvre's Cour Carrée.

Marc Jacobs, who is rumored to be at the top of list to replace John Galliano at Christian Dior, sent a collection of soft dresses, jackets, skirts and tops, many marked with light flowery prints.

Models sported buns, some with headbands and others with tiaras, giving a sort of swan-like feel to the collection.

Also of note, the end of the show: model and style icon Kate Moss was the last one down the runway before Jacobs came to take a bow.

DIOR J'ADORE~

Report: Marc Jacobs Making Move To Dior~

The rumors of who will replace John Galliano at Dior has had the fashion world in a tizzy over the last few months. Galliano was let go from the French fashion house in March after Dior executives saw the now infamous video of the famed designer's anti-Semitic rant, which was caught on tape by a group of people at Le Perle bar in Paris. A report from WWD suggests that Marc Jacobs is in talks to succeed Galliano as Creative Director at Dior.

According to WWD, Benard Arnault the head of LVMH, is currently in talks with Jacobs about moving from Louis Vuitton, where he has been Artistic Director since 1997, to Dior. Should Jacobs head to Dior, there will be a quick shuffle to fill his spot at Louis Vuitton. It is suggested that designer Phoebe Philo would be a front runner to fill the vacancy. Philo has had much success in the LVMH family and  is currently Creative Director of Celine.

Other candidates for the Dior job have included Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci, Prabal Gurung, Alexander McQueen's Sarah Burton and Nicolas Ghesquiere of Balenciaga. All have reportedly declined the position. Both Dior and Jacobs are keeping quiet on the matter, but a source tells WWD that Jacobs and Dior management are "excited about the prospect". Talks between the American designer’s legal representatives and the famed fashion house are expected to be finalized this week in Paris.
