It might have been a hot and sticky day in New York City, but you couldn't tell by the atmosphere at Rag & Bone's Spring 2013 RTW presentation. Designers David Neville and Marcus Wainwright kept guests of their show feeling cool and comfortable by passing out ice cream and ice cold Peroni while Radiohead's Thom Yorke spun pumped up tunes. The design duo pulled inspiration from a variety of places for this collection, where Hampton's preppy cool met sporty girl with an edge.
There were pops of coral and beige and electric brights in hues of blue and green, but cool crisp white seemed to be the theme of this collection.
Striped seersucker tops, skirts and shorts were trimmed with intricate lace details mixing in that sweet girly vibe. Looks were accessorized with raffia hats, leather clutches, sporty sunglasses and slingback platforms and wedges.
The athletic mood was brought about with silky and crisp tops teamed with long relaxed shorts, tennis style skirts or cropped moto pants.
Nearly every look was topped with an oversized, bulky bomber or long overcoat. We have a feeling the quilted, blue cropped jacket will be on lots of wish lists.
While we won't be seeing Rag & Bone designs on any red carpet, you can bet stars like Jessica Alba, Haliee Steinfeld, Emma Stone and Maggie Gylenhaal will all be seen wearing looks from this collection.
