London Fashion Week Spring 2013 RTW: Peter Pilotto

Psychedelic, digital prints and exaggerated silhouettes are a dominating presence for Peter Pilotto's Spring 2013 RTW collection. We have come to expect this kind of "sensory overload" aesthetic from Pilotto. Women who want their wardrobe to captivate and entrance onlookers will want to pick up pieces from this collection.

The color palette for the collection involves a vibrant mix of blue, red, yellow, black, white and various hues of greens.

Complex shapes, including flutter sleeves and peplum, combined with eye-popping embroidery, beading and cutout details for an overwhelming range of styles. A standout piece in the collection is the halterneck, dress featuring a peplum top and fit and flare embellished skirt that looks as if it's adorned with little mirrors.

Thigh-high slits, flirty necklines and shoulder-baring ensembles gave silhouettes a dramatic feel.

Looks were styled with striking, embellished Nicholas Kirkwood cutout heels. The models had barely there makeup and loose, low ponytails with pieces that framed their face, which was absolute perfection as to not distract from the flashy fashions.

We hope to see celebrities like Emma Watson, Emma Stone, Jaime King and Kate Bosworth ,who all love bold silhouettes, inject these eccentric, digitally printed pieces into their red carpet wardrobes.

London Fashion Week RTW: Basso & Brooke

With the Fall 2012 collection, Basso & Brooke continue to do what they excel at: eye-catching colors swirling within digitally produced prints. Stripes, herringbone and chevron prints intermingled together on jackets and dresses in various vibrant colors. Collages of polka dots, solids and micro-prints came together in clothing masterpieces.

The collection featured maxi-skirts and dresses paired with jackets and sweaters. Garments with multiple prints were layered with single printed pieces, showing various wearability options.

Thick slouchy socks were worn under peep-toe heels, wedges and boots. The models sported middle-parted librarian hair and dark, vamp lipstick.

The most exciting accessories of the collection were the handbags. Partnering with The Cambridge Satchel Company, Basso & Brooke debuted several multi-printed handbags and satchels.

The clasped bags are a little splash of color, perfect for those easing into the new era of digitally-designed prints before committing to the whole outfit.
