Drew Barrymore Covers Allure's January 2013 Issue

Drew Barrymore smolders on the cover of Allure Magazine's January 2013 issue wearing a snakeskin Gucci coat and punchy pink lipstick. For her editorial, Drew was photographed by Carter Smith on location at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood wearing looks from Olatz and Rochas. Inside the 37-year-old new mom dishes on her wild child teen years to dieting after giving birth to daughter Olive.

Drew on her teenage years: “The mistakes, the potholes, the journeys, the bad patterns – all of it is so much clearer to me now…but I still don’t totally feel like a grown-up. Maybe I never will.”

Drew on dieting: "I cannot live a life where I'm deprived. I'd much rather be five, 10 pounds heavier."

Drew on Kristin Wiig dating her ex, Fabrizio Moretti: "It all seems so wacky and incestuous, but that's kind of how life works. . . . It seems fitting that they would find each other. I was like, 'Right, of course, that makes perfect sense.'"

Drew on husband, Will Kopelman: "We have opposite experiences, but we're not opposites. We're both very particular and detail-oriented. We love art and music and adventures, and we laugh our asses off together. I'm a Kopelman now. I have stationery that says 'Drew Barrymore Kopelman.' I love to sort of honor and be a part of the family business with Chanel, and then I try to do a little something funky and me. I wear a lot of Chanel now."

Drew Barrymore's Daughter, Olive Named After Animated Character?

Yesterday it was announced that Drew Barrymore had delivered her daughter, Olive Barrymore Kopelman, on September 26th. This is the first child for Drew and her husband, Will Kopelman who were married this past June, just six months after announcing their engagement.

There is something vaguely familiar about the name Olive. In 1999 the CGI animated television special Olive, the Other Reindeer debuted and chronicled the story of a sweet Jack Russell Terrier named Olive (voiced by Drew Barrymore), based off Vivian Walsh's 1997 children's book about her real life Jack Russell terrier.

The story begins as Olive returns home one day to find her owner, Tim, packing up all of the Christmas decorations and tells Olive that there will not be a Christmas this year.

Eventually, Olive finds out that the reason is that Blizten, one of Santa's reindeer, is injured and cannot fly. The radio reported that Santa hopes he can make the Christmas run with "all of the other reindeer", however Olive hears, "Olive the other reindeer," and believes Santa is talking about her to help save Christmas. Upon hearing this news, Olive sets out for an adventure to the North Pole to help save Christmas.

Along the way she meets many friends including a penguin named Martini (personally my favorite character) and an evil Mailman who is mad at Santa for always being on the "Naughty List". The Mailman is determined to make trouble for Olive and do anything he can to stop her from saving Christmas. In the end, Olive saves Christmas and all the presents are delivered in time.

When I heard that Drew Barrymore had named her daughter Olive I immediately thought of the cute little cartoon special. It will be interesting to hear if there is a story behind the name Olive or if it's just purely coincidence.

What do you guys think? Have you seen Olive, the Other Reindeer?
