Colored denim, spring and summer's hottest trend is carrying over into fall wardrobes. Popping up everywhere in splashes of blue, burgundy, bright red and earth tones like moss green, clay and rust. Celebrities like Sophia Bush and Kate Middleton are already transitioning their ensembles to autumn hues.
What other styles of denim are popular for the impending fall season?
Everything old is new again this season with denim. From patterned to coated, slouchy to distressed, here is a rundown of the upcoming denim trends for the fall/winter 2012 season.
Cropped Denim: Yup, we are back to this trend again. Best worn with statement making heels or sky-high platforms. Roll them, cuff them or buy them at ankle length; this trend is back in full force!
Boyfriend Denim: The slouchy, borrowed from the boys style, a popular favorite from the 1990s is back with an updated twist. There is something about this cool relaxed fit with an edgy feel that we love. Gentle rips and distressed details give this trend a slight edge. Pair with your favorite sweater or a feminine top to give it a girly sweet jolt.
Printed/Patterned Denim: Take your colored denim up a notch, if you dare. Floral denim was in full bloom for spring and summer and the trend is transitioning to fall in forms of animal print, baroque and graphic print patterns. Maximize this look by pairing with a single color and minimal jewels to keep it from being too loud.
Coated/Waxed Denim: This unique treatment resembles that of leather and it's sexy and fashion forward. Metallic hues and neutral hues are popular for fall. Pair with an embellished tank and cropped jacket or an open weave sweater and boots for a sensational look.
What do you think of these denim trends? Which ones will you be adding to your closets?
