Evening Gowns

Jessica Biel in Elie Saab at the Tiffany & Co. Blue Book Ball

Jessica Biel attended the Tiffany & Co. Blue Book Ball in New York City wearing this floor-sweeping floral print Elie Saab halter-neck gown featuring sheer panels on the skirt.

The actress styled her ensemble with Tiffany and Co. jewels.

Gorgeous tumbling waves and a nude pout provided the finishing touches to her sensational look.

I must admit, this is one of my favorite looks for Jessica. She looks absolutely gorgeous.

What are your thoughts?

Collections to Covet: Katie Ermilio F/W 2013

Recently, as I was looking through my emails, I noticed a trunkshow alert for a designer by the name of Katie Ermilio. Why have I not heard of this young woman? Well obviously I've been living under a rock to have not noticed her designs, because they are breathtaking. Ermilio's F/W 2013 is filled with tailored mixed separates and stunning dresses made for red carpet moments. Intrigued by her designs, I then read her bio, and two interesting things popped out at me: 1. Katie's grandfather was the designer of the iconic green jacket awarded for winning The Masters Tournament. 2. Her grandfather was the personal clothier to Grace Kelly.

Ermilio has also created a capsule collection for Barneys and it's easy to see that the collection has a very elegant lady like feel with a youthful energy. The collection includes several evening looks in bright colors and fashion-forward silhouettes. My favorite pieces are the Two-Tone Mermaid Gown and the Peplum Hem Skirt.

I would love to see Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Amanda Seyfried and Keira Knightley wear any one of these looks from the F/W 2013 collection on the red carpet.

What do you think of Katie Ermilio's designs?

Visit Moda Operandi for the Katie Ermilio Trunkshow. Going on now through April 3, 2013 at 11 PM EDT.

Kerry Washington in Giles at the Django Unchained London Premiere

Kerry walked the red carpet for the London premiere of Django Unchained in this breath-taking printed, winter white Giles puffy ballgown featuring a fitted bodice and modified hi-low hemline.

If anyone star has had a fabulous fashionable promotional tour for a movie, Kerry would be the winner hands down.I am disappointed this is the last stop on this tour, but I am sure she will make an appearance or two during award season.

Kerry accented her stunning ensemble with white Christian Louboutin heels, a silver box clutch and a brilliant Solange Azagury-Patridge ring.

A wavy up-do and berry lip color provided the finishing touches.

What do you think of Kerry's look?

New York Fashion Week: Marchesa

Sparkle, detail and drama! Marchesa's Spring 2012 collection was filled with floaty, frothy gowns that were inspired by Ilya Repin’s painting ‘Sadko’. Designer duo, Georgina Chapman and Keren Creig showcased a collection that was one of an underwater romantic fantasy.

Glamorous gowns of draped organza, layers of tulle and chiffon dripping with silk fringe, swept down the runway as if drifting by on soft waves of the ocean.

Heavily beaded and embroidered creations in a palette of mostly white, nude and black radiates with the sensation of Oscar nominees dazzling the red carpet.

This is the first time the designers have held a full scale runway show since their debut in 2007. If this was a return to the runway of sorts, no doubt this the way to do it!
