Last night was the red carpet premiere for Spring Breakers in Paris. The film's plot revolves around four young college girls (Gomez, Hudgens, Benson and Korine) who land in jail for robbing a restaurant to fund their Spring Break trip. The quartet are soon bailed out by a drug and arms dealer, played by James Franco, who wants them to do some dirty work. The film's four leading ladies stepped out in sexy designer frocks, but I fear of few of their sartorial choices were just plain criminal.
Ashley Benson stepped out for the premiere in Paris wearing this sexy black, beaded Amit GT mermaid gown featuring a daring cut-out neckline. She styled her look with minimal jewels. Which was the best part because the gown dazzles on its own. Loose wavy tresses and a pink pout added the final touches. I love her hairstyle. However, with this gown, what you cannot see is the sexy cut-out shoulder design that is being covered up by her tumbling locks.
After a fabulous style run this past September at the Venice and Toronto Film Festival red carpet premieres, I cannot help but feel a little let down by Selena's red carpet look for the Paris Spring Breakers premiere. She opted for an electric blue sparkling Gucci minidress featuring an ornate halter neckline. Selena styled her look with metallic Jimmy Choo heels and Pearl Collective earrings. A twisted up-do and smokey blue eye completed her look. I think she may have went a bit overboard with the makeup, as I feel it was a bit too heavy. I think her look is more performance costume at the Wynn in Las Vegas than red carpet premiere.
Vanessa Hudgens opted for a beautiful strapless, pale pink Rafael Cennamo tea-length cocktail dress featuring black beaded rose embellished detailing. This dress was altered from the runway version, which was a silver floor-length gown adorned with soft pink rose embellishments and had a metallic belt. She styled her ensemble with rosette adorned Giuseppe Zanotti black pumps and Sutra drop earrings. A bouffant up-do and black manicure finished her look. I can see why Vanessa had the shorter length, the longer version would have swallowed up her petite frame. I think she should have worn the belt and opted for different shoes, though. Vanessa's makeup was too heavy and goth-like, it feels a bit over the top for the look, more prom and less red carpet.
Rachel Korine wore a strapless violet, curve-hugging Dolce & Gabbana lace sheath dress for the Paris premiere. Frankly, I am already bored, I have see this look too many times. She accessorized her ensemble with black pointed heels and minimal jewels. A bright red-orange matte lip and loose chignon with side-swept bangs provided the final touches to her look.
What do you think of their red carpet style?
