Rooney attended the opening for Bird/Magic on Broadway in New York City wearing a black jacket paired with wide-leg pants.

What do you think of Rooney's return to the red carpet? She obviously has extensions in her hair. Do you prefer her mane long or short with blunt bangs? Do you like the way the 26-year-old keeps things low key with her fashion or would you like to see her bring some drama to her look?

Golden Globes 2012~ What Will the Nominees Wear?

The fashion forecast for the 69th Annual Golden Globes is glamorous with a hint of sophistication. We cannot wait to see what our favorite celebrities and this year's nominees will be wearing. We have searched the stars signature styles and made our fashion predictions for one of the year's biggest red carpet events. Here are our suggestions for what some of the nominees should wear to the Golden Globes.

Rooney Mara
Best Actress Motion Picture Drama for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo

Our Prediction: Mara will opt for a black or white gown with edge and high drama. Like this Givenchy Haute Couture gown Rooney wore to the London premiere.

Safe Choice: This sleek, white Emilio Pucci gown with embroidered details and sheer panels. Minimal jewels and a peep toe heel would be the perfect accent to this look. Dream Choice: A gorgeous, strapless Alexander McQueen ballgown featuring gold embroidered details on the bodice. Bold femininity!

Viola Davis
Best Actress
Motion Picture Drama for The Help

Our Prediction: Viola loves bright colors and soft fabrics. The Help star will most likely pick a gown just like the punchy colored Raoul column gown she wore to the Critics Choice Awards. Safe Choice: A lovely, floor sweeping Jenny Packham gown with lace details at the neckline and shoulders. This gown is romantic, fun and feminine. Viola should add dramatic jewels or canary yellow diamonds for a wow factor. Dream Choice: This tangerine Alberta Ferretti chiffon gown is the perfect mix of sexy sophistication. Add an underlay to the gown and alter the neckline for The Help star so she is not completely risque on the red carpet.

Charlize Theron
Best Actress Motion Picture Comedy or Musical for Young Adult

Our Prediction: Charlize never seems to disappoint on the red carpet. We predict she will select a gown that defines glamor and has plenty of sex appeal. At the Critics Choice Awards the South African beauty was radiant in this sleeveless, black Azzedine Alaia Couture gown featuring scalloped edges and a ruffled skirt.
Safe Choice: Reminds us a bit of the Grecian inspired Lanvin gown Natalie Portman wore to the Oscars in 2005. Alter the neckline of this champagne Christian Dior gown for Charlize to plunge a bit and it's sure to be a red carpet showstopper. Dream Choice: We'd love to see Charlize show off those perfectly toned legs of hers in this one-shoulder, jewel toned Oscar de la Renta gown. She would really rock this look with a pair of bronzed heels. Also, the color is perfect for her!

Michelle Williams
Best Actress Motion Picture Comedy or Musical for Young Adult

Our Prediction: Michelle generally opts for ladylike silhouettes with whimsical or floral patterns. We absolutely loved this lace Christian Dior dress with plunging neckline she wore to the movie's NYC premiere.

Safe Choice: This pretty, strapless Valentino gown featuring delicate floral embroidery is definitely Michelle's style. It's a little daring --  we rarely see the star with bare shoulders -- so strapless is a fun step forward. Dream Choice: Michelle should take a cue from Marliyn and channel old Hollywood glamor but add some sex appeal by showing off her curves in this embellished, fuchsia Elie Saab gown.

Kate Winslet
Double Best Actress Nominee Motion Picture Comedy or Musical for Carnage and for the HBO miniseries Mildred Pierce

Our Prediction: Kate always selects dramatic dresses that tend to be perfectly classic and timeless. The British beauty wears gowns that have notable necklines or details, making them instant favorites. She will have a look that will be unforgettable.

Safe Choice: Kate could select this sleek, Badgley Mischka design that features a jeweled waistline and unique shoulder details. The lovely soft grey color would be a nice compliment with her signature red pout.  Dream Choice: As a double nominee, Kate should bring the glamor. Go big or go home! We'd love to see Kate in this, sensational swirling scarlet Zac Posen ball gown. High drama!

Jessica Chastain
Best Supporting Actress for The Help

Our Prediction: The star of The Help loves to wear color and is quite the risk-taker with her fashion choices. Jessica will wear a gown not only unique in color but also textures likes this ruched, plum Oscar de la Renta gown.
Safe Choice: Being a fan of textures this multi-layered Oscar de la Renta gown will look phenomenal on the red-haired beauty. With the right accessories and choice of hair style, Jessica could be a major stand out on the red carpet. Dream Choice: Since Jessica loves to play up color, we think she should give this acid yellow Jason Wu gown a spin. With her fair complexion, we'd love to see her wear her hair down and accessorize with some bold statement jewels.
