In The Mood For: Fall's Best Emerald Green Looks, Inspired by NYFW

Pantone selected Emerald green as this year's color of the year. Fashion Designers incorporated the jewel-toned hue into their fall 2013 collections in striking ways, creating many desirable looks. The runways for New York Fashion Week were filled with emerald green red carpet gowns (thank you Monique Lhuillier), jackets and accessories. These pieces were just waiting for buyers, editors and celebrities to scoop them up pronto. I have picked my six favorite fashionable emerald green ensembles presented at New York Fashion Week that I think are the must haves for fall.

Can't you just picture Jennifer Lawrence in this stunning sleeveless Badgley Mischka gown at the premiere of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire? I'd love to see Eva Mendes wear this Cushnie et Ochs dress with sexy cut-out details to the premiere of The Place Beyond the Pines. I think Rihanna needs to pick up this Altuzarra dress, it's completely her style.

I love the sparkling mini from Kaufmanfranco, I think Elle Fanning would look simply adorable in this flirty look. The Jill Stuart jacket is one of my personal favorites, a trendy, modern spin on a power suit perfect for the office or even date night.  Who wouldn't want to wear this long-sleeved belted, leather dress from Calvin Klein?

Which pieces are your favorites?

In The Mood For: A Red Coat, Inspired by Jessica Chastain

Proving that redheads can indeed wear red, Jessica Chastain was spotted headed for an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman in New York City wearing this charming double-breasted Michael Kors vibrant crimson colored coat. The design featured circle pockets, a large Peter Pan collar and gold-encircled buttons--very mod inspired feel. Tumbling wavy tresses and black Rupert Sanderson heels topped off her look.

Mixed Separates Monday: Brocade Beauties

In the mood for adding some luxe items into your fall wardrobe? Baroque-inspired pieces are just the way to accomplish that goal. Brocade prints are richly decorative woven fabrics, often made in various silks coupled with the use of gold and silver threads.

Designers like Jason Wu, Dolce & Gabbana and Balmain all captivated the runways with their Baroque-inspired collections for Fall 2012. These collections mixed shimmering, satin jackets with opulent, printed pants and eye-catching velvet pieces. I personally loved the way that Dolce & Gabbana combined brocade prints with lace details on cocktail dresses and corsets creating the most elegant ensembles.

Here are a few of my favorite Baroque inspired picks for the season. What do you think of these picks? Have you added any Baroque pieces to your fall wardrobes?

Mixed Separates Monday: Amazing Autumn

My favorite time of the year to shop for clothing is autumn. To me, there really is nothing quite like the sound of crisp leaves crunching underneath a pair of chunky heeled boots. I love the cozy textures and warm colors that come with the fall season. I crave cooler weather styling, such as layering a loose knit sweater over a silk blouse, topped by a fabulous wool coat.

Here is an inspirational, mixed separates ensemble to try for fall. Playing off the color palette of the blouse, by sticking to mostly burnt oranges, tanned browns and olive greens hues, this ensemble will get you in the mood for autumn dressing.

What do you think of this look? Do you have any favorite pieces? Is there anything you would add or change?

Raising The Stakes Event Wins Big

On November 11th the Ritz Charles just north of Indianapolis, played host for Raising the Stakes for Noble an event presented by the United Hope Foundation. Noble of Indiana is a local non-profit dedicated to creating opportunities for people with developmental disabilities.

This was more than just dinner and a show. Noble of Indiana program participants and families shared their stories of encouragement, support and love. The message was clear -- this organization is making great strides to provide families with a strong foundation of strength and hope.

Nearly 500 guests enjoyed an evening of food and fun. The Ritz Charles was transformed into a fabulous casino. Inspired by the dazzling energy of Las Vegas, the event featured  live entertainment and a plethora of gaming tables from blackjack to roulette. Game tables and dealers were hosted by the Sertoma Club of Broad Ripple, an organization which is a long-time supporter of Noble of Indiana.

One of the highlights of the evening was the champagne Diamond Drop hosted by Distinctive Diamonds. Distinctive Diamonds is the elite jewelry retailer of Indianapolis and offers the highest standards in quality and service to their clients and customers.

During the event, guests were invited to try their luck to win a beautiful, round, brilliant diamond (appraised value of $2,500). One hundred glasses of champagne presented the possibility for one lucky person to win the sparkling gem. After the glasses of champagne were gone, the guests were invited back at 10 o'clock to have their diamond tested to see if they held the real stone in their possession.

"This event for Noble of Indiana is a wonderful way for Distinctive Diamonds to be involved with the community and have some fun!" said Andrea Hornor, Reception and Hospitality specialist for the jeweler. "Giving back and supporting a great cause is one of the many elements that attributes to our brands standard of value and service."

The lucky winner was Libby Ball, who shouted,  "I can't believe I won! I'm so excited!"

The night ended with tons of smiles and patrons dancing across the ballroom floor to the exits.

The Raising the Stakes event generously raised $57,000 for the Indianapolis-based organization. Proving that 11-11-11 was a truly winning night for all involved.
