Thanksgiving is almost here. Aside from the delicious food we will be enjoying and the beautifully decorated centerpieces, is your outfit ready? If not, don't worry I have two ideas for ensembles that will be both stylish and practical. You don't want to wear something that looks like you just stepped off a runway and you'll want to avoid wearing white or any other light colors as a focal piece. The last thing you need is to become victimized by Aunt Grace's gravy and have a stain that will be forever recalled year after year in the holiday family "remember when" highlight reel. So let's get the ball rolling on inspiration for your fabulous Thanksgiving ensemble.
Textures are trending, so you'll be fashionable and comfortable by opting for similar items like this bouclé dress from Topshop or the Michael Kors tweed jacket. Bold colored jewels always make a festive statement.
What are your plans for the weekend? Later today I have a Tastefully Simple Girls Night Out Event at my friend Danielle's home. Tomorrow I will be attending my friend Jessica's bridal shower, who is getting married next month in Cairo (yes, Egypt). I wonder if Jessica's shower will have a cookie as big as Lillian's in the movie Bridesmaids? One can only hope! The rest of the weekend includes a trip to Whole Foods and more cleaning as we get ready for our big move. Hope you all have a great Friday, now get the wrap up on a few fabulous things from this week...
Various shades of purple are always a popular pick for fall fashion and designer's collections are always packed full of the romantic and bold shade. One of my favorite hues of purple is plum, because of its ability to serve as both a warm and cool color. This ultimately depends on how much of the red and blue tones are mixed into the color palette to create the shade. The See by Chloe sweater, featured below is a cooler shade of plum, while the White House|Black Market Plum Corduroy Jacket is a warmer shade of the rich color.
What do you think of the color plum? Have you added any plum pieces to your fall wardrobe? Do you prefer to wear plum with more blue tones or red?
