Memorial Day Weekend Style: Day and Night

Cookouts, parties, parades and race cars can only mean one thing: Memorial Day Weekend has arrived. Most likely you have a few events in your social calendar this weekend and that calls for a few wardrobe changes.

Keep your look daytime casual and simple during the day and appropriate for the weather. Too many accessories and high heels could make for an uncomfortable outing -- you'll be too busy adjusting or wobbling around a crowded event rather than focusing on conversation and enjoying good food and drinks. Breathable, breezy fabrics and light colors mix for the perfect outfit.

Take your evening look up a few stylish notches, but still keep comfort in mind. Think more cocktail chic -- like a sensational shift dress or a pretty lace dress paired with a wedge heel. Keep your accessories light. Stacked bangles or a dramatic pair of earrings will give your look just the sensational spark it needs to be complete.

Editor's Pick~ Short Suits

We are just plain crazy about short suits this season. Shorts get dressed up with feminine blouses and smart blazers for spring and summer 2012. This trend was seen all over the runways in collections from Jill Stuart, Temperley London and Rachel Zoe, just to name a few.

Last November Amanda Seyfried wore this chic, electric blue H&M short suit accented with black trim to the London premiere of In Time landing her on several best dressed lists. Victoria Justice wore a pretty, coral Elizabeth and James short suit to the Kids Choice Awards earlier this month and looked sensational.

Start building your summer suiting wardrobe by adding these two colorful and flirty pieces.

First Look: Jason Wu for Target

Back in October it was revealed that Jason Wu would be designing a collection for Target and now the images have arrived! Sophisticated blouses with Peter Pan collars, ladylike pleated skirts, nautical printed and girly A-line dresses — as well as a plethora of luxe-looking handbags and accessories all inspired by French New Wave films and actress Jean Seberg.

"My goal was not to duplicate anything from my main collection," stated Wu. "Instead I designed completely new clothes and accessories that reflect my taste and have a voice of their own."

February 5th can't get here soon enough and with a price range of $20 to $60, we're clearing enough space in our closets for at least a few of these must have items!

What do you think? Will you be heading to Target to grab up the Jason Wu fashion goodies?
