If you're anything like me, you keep a hoodie nearby at all times (ie - if your office is a meat locker or your boyfriend likes to keep the thermostat at 60). You want to be at least semi-comfortable at work and at home.
Enter New York-based Kings of Cole. Founded by 24-year-old Elana Brynes, the label specializes in ultra-soft, "insanely soft" hoodies and sweats for women and men.
One look at the fashions of Kings of Cole shows it all -- a mix of hip urban design and pieces to keep you plenty warm once fall and winter reappear.
Elana says the line is already gaining a celebrity following, in the form of the Kardashians and Gwyneth Paltrow, to name a few.
This fall Kings of Cole will be making a major move -- to noted Los Angeles store Fred Segal.
"I found a hole in the market while shopping for a hoodie for my ex-boyfriend," Elana tells me. "Kings of Cole is a little over a year old and it's already taken off." She describes her product as the "perfect hoodie," cut like your boyfriend's (a little less fitted, but sassy and fun).
Brynes' label are big supporters of community efforts nationwide. The line is going on tour to colleges around the United States, displaying their wares to the Greek system. Each stop will raise money for a given sorority or fraternity's philanthropic endeavor.
Brynes is especially committed to the national anti-bullying movement, even making a hoodie with the words, "bye haters."
Brynes says she's proudest of "imagining a company into real life" in such a short time. At 24, this Boston University graduate appears to be poised to take the fashion world by storm!
